This summertime maternity session in the Ballantyne area screams all things dreamy and whimsical! I think this session captures all the summer feels! I love this time of year for many reasons: Sun dresses, bright sun, warm weather and the world just seems to be a little bit more relaxed. This little family is so care free and goes with the flow. I can’t wait to meet their newest addition in a few weeks! I know mom and dad are going to love their newborn so well! And little sis is just so excited that she can’t stand it!!

Outdoor maternity sessions are always beautiful. I try to start with single shots of the mama to be and then move forward with couples photos. If the family already has children, I like to do a few family pictures and then some single shots of just the siblings! This keeps the session flowing smoothly and quickly.

My favorite thing about this session is the lighting. It is so beautiful peaking through the trees and it really highlights the beautiful outdoor scenery. Lighting can truly make or break a session. I have to be very specific about the time of day and location of where we do sessions, so I can make sure we have optimal light!
