If you’ve been in North Carolina for long, you know we have cold and bare looking winters (booooo!). That’s one reason I do lots of white space maternity photos in my studio! It’s the perfect spot for light and airy images. While I do shoot in here often during the nicer months, I am in here constantly December-March. 

Maternity sessions are obviously not for everyone, but for the moms who want to be able to look back on that fleeting season, they are so special! I personally love having high quality photos of myself with each of my babies growing in my belly. The children will always have those to treasure as they grow, too. Just like the wedding day, it’s a short moment in time you don’t get to go back to and can’t recreate! 

If you’re unsure what to wear, I always suggest keeping it simple and soft. White/cream/soft colors that compliment each other keep the images free of distractions and help offer a cohesiveness to the overall look. I also keep dresses that are available to my clients!
